Our Van

Burstner Nexxo T660 Review

The Burstner features the Fiat 2.3 ltr 130 Euro 4 multijet engine with 6 speed gearbox, cruise control, air conditioning, electric mirrors and a wood effect dashboard trim, a great van to drive in fact i prefer driving it to the car!

We had some necessary extras fitted at the time of purchase which included an oven/grill, 80 watt solar panel and regulator, reversing camera and kenwood dvd/radio/video head unit for the rear view monitor, a TV and aerial and finally an alarm and tracker for the insurance company, more recently we have added a second leisure battery and a 1000 watt inverter as we wild camp a lot and we also had the gaslow system fitted because of the pain exchanging the calor gas bottles in the Isle of Man and finally a cb radio for no other reason than i like having one in my van!

Having spent the last 4 months living in our Burstner Nexxo T660 you start thinking of how you would like to change some small things but that’s all they are little things that would make a big difference for example the shower room sink area has nowhere to place small items like tooth brushes, tooth paste ect but that’s easily fixed with some suction corner chrome shelves from B&Q stuck directly on the mirror they work great and are easy to remove for cleaning.

The van is well proportioned throughout and suites our needs, as with every motorhome there are compromises like the low French bed means less garage space and having the european style layout means a smaller cooking area, the lounge area is perfect for our needs the only wish the table had a fold out section so it could be a bit smaller for everyday use, it is a little tight to get from the driver and passengers seat to the living area.

The TV is hidden in the silver cuboard (see photo below) and slides out for viewing either in the living area or bedroom

The shower room is a great size and presents no problems, only one small gripe is the small plastic towel hooks on the back of the door, the towels are always falling off, but i am on the lookout for a neat towel rail to fit which will overcome this problem. The shower room is heated, and comes with a hardwood slatted floor which really does make a difference to the overhaul comfort whilst having a shower, fold out screens protect the toilet and sink from any splashes when showering.

To summarise we love this van, she get’s on average 28/31 MPG and just sails along the open road and is very quite, in fact the worst noise we hear is the road noise from the tyres when driving on the UK roads the French and Spanish roads are a lot quieter and smoother.

There are lot’s of storage space in all of the various shape cupboards and shelves and the wardrobe space does not disappoint, the truma central heating is excellent and piping hot water is heated in just 5/10 mins.

One major criticism we have is the lack of decent lighting around the central area of the van between the fridge and shower door area, all other areas are like Blackpool illuminations so i will fit some low level LED concealed strip lighting in the near future to enhance this area.

Marks for the Burstner Nexxo T660 9 out of 10
